THOMAS HUTH
Founder
His passion for Africa and its people, and the huge potential of solar power to improve their standard of living led Thomas and his wife to found Village Power in 2013. He has been involved in various startups since completing his studies in Business Administration in Munich, Madrid and London. In 2003 he co-founded a Software Trading company and served as its CFO until exiting in 2010. He then started an Investment company founding and funding startups and is a board member of several Swiss and German companies. Thomas loves to explore the world and has visited more than 60 countries on 6 continents.
SIMON PETER TUSIIME
Managing Director
Simon Peter Tusiime is a Corporate Finance, Audit and advisory senior management executive with more than 10 years’ experience in finance & accounting. He holds a BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting –Oxford Brookes University –UK. He is ACCA qualified and a Certified Public Accountant. Simon has extensive experience working in Uganda, Burundi, South Sudan and Rwanda, where he has conducted assignments in the core areas of Corporate Finance, Strategy, accounting, audit, advisory and strategic planning in different organizations.

ALI BALUNYWA
Non Executive Director
As Non Executive Director of Village Power, Ali is keen on the potential of rural electrification through solar. He values people and seeks to empower them by supporting and contributing to sustainable community development initiatives. Ali studied Business Administration and Mass Communications at Makerere University. He built a career that spans over 14 years in sales, distribution and general management. He has worked in various multinational organisations such as Airtel, East African Breweries, MultiChoice and British American Tobacco. He enjoys basketball and has previously served the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA), as Vice President. This inspired him to develop a current program that supports the Girl child through sports as a vehicle for education and sports.
